SPACE Spa Alta S.p.A. was set up as a spin off company in 1999, to exploit technologies developed within the frame of basic research activities in the space propulsion field at the University of Pisa and Consorzio Pisa Ricerche’s Centrospazio laboratory. Today Alta is a completely independent, privately owned, company with its main site located in Pisa and smaller sites in Grosetto and Bari. Alta is mainly active in the space sector and in particular in advanced propulsion for satellites, where it is one of the leading companies in Europe and the world.
