MEC srl

MEC srl has been founded in 2004 as spin-off of Bologna and Ferrara Universities along with Mr Giorgio Mariani, coming from Thales as Southern Europe Area manager for MIL/ SPACE Division.
The main mission of MEC is the design and development of MMIC, hybrid and TX/RX microwave modules.
A significant activity is also devoted to models development, electrical and thermal simulation for active and passive microwave components.
The company rely on the most advanced test equipments up to 110 GHz, in a clean room environment of 1.000 and 10.000 class.
MEC srl became partner of the main world wide GaAs and GaN foundries, it provides a cooperation for development of electrical and thermal models in the frame of the most advanced technological processes.
It is significantly involved in such programmes of ASI, as Cosmo Skymed and SIASGE, to develop the last generation of active antenna SAR.
It cooperates with European partners to ESA programmes.
The design capability of MEC represents the only way to make Italy owner of strategic microwave modules and subsystems, which very often come from USA countries and must undergo severe embargo conditions.
