is a Rome based SME. ISIS R&D boasts Engineering
/ Management business experience, technology skills and know-how
matured during several years of rigorous academic work, as researchers
in the Department of Mechanics and Aeronautics at the State University
of Rome “La Sapienza”, and as employment in high tech
private industries and management of agencies participating in strategic
national and international scientific research projects and industrial
programs. ISIS R&D main interests and capabilities are:
(a)Magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) e.g. in
supersonic combustion ramjets and re-entry;
(b)Catalytic re-combination, high temperature transport properties
and radiative effects for aero-thermodynamic analysis;
(c)Turbulent combustion modelling using Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes
equations (RANS) and large eddy simulation (LES) approaches and
developing subgride scale models;
(d)Combustion monitoring and control; Catalytic combustion, for
main burners and afterburners;
(e)Droplet combustion for liquid rocket engines and liquid rocket
engines combustion instability;
(f)Heat transfer (thermal protection systems, heat pipes); (g)Superconducting
wires, and coils. SC magnet design;
(h)Mission analysis;
(i)Supersonic combustion, ramjets combustion and compressible turbulence;
